Running maintenance can be likened to vehicle maintenance. Why do some vehicles break down sooner and more often than others?
A large component of vehicle integrity is dependent on how you drive and how well you maintain your vehicle. Driving poorly or ignoring the check engine light may work for the first 100k miles, but what happens after that? Will the vehicle make it to 200k miles? Running is no different. Most people run without considering their form or addressing the underlying strength or mobility deficits; and, as a result, turn to temporary, quick fixes (new shoes, foam rolling, taping, etc.) However, temporary fixes are just that – temporary solutions. They don’t address the root cause of the issue, and as you continue to age or increase your mileage, the bad habits catch up. That’s where The Run Mechanics come in.
